Exploring Anima Mundi - the Soul of the world ... Play Retreat Relax in the Greek Islands

A seven day workshop for personal growth on the Greek island of Paros, using the expressive arts - play, dance, clay, and dream work - in the context of Greek myth, exploring the ancient belief of Animism – that there is Soul in everything, even our creative acts, and that this Soul connects all living things. This belief is at the core of Greek philosophy, as well as most world religions.

Children love Greek myths because they describe unfettered life force, unbridled power. As children we are naturally animistic which is what makes play therapy and the expressive arts so effective.  They help manifest and heal soul.

Join us for a week of play, using the myths of Gaia, Poseidon, Dionysus, Hermes, Persephone and others. Each day begins with morning meditation and quiet time, followed by dream sharing, creative exploration and sandplay on the beach. Each evening we will meet to journey into Greek myth through story and expressive arts we will consider how the ancient mysteries relate to ourselves and our modern world. Afternoons you will be free to relax by the hotel pool, swim in the Aegean sea, walk the ancient Byzantine Road with its thousand year old olive trees, meander through the labyrinthine streets of the medieval villages. It is here on Paros the ancient stories were born and through play we will reconnect to the essence of the myths which arose from this land.

Our setting is the lovely village of Lefkes on Paros island, nestled in the mountains with the sea shimmering in the distance. We will also take a day trip to a more remote Greek island. This workshop offers a much needed sense of renewal. Join us!
