I feel very honoured to have been a guest at the first South East Asia Play Therapy conference held in Bali in October 2016. Bali is such a beautiful island and Alice Arianto ( see photo!) and her team planned and organised a wonderful week of
lectures and training. Over 100 play therapists from all over Asia attended and were welcomed by a traditional Balinese dance which set the scene of magical story making for our special guest Joyce Mills. Joyce is well known as a unique and innovative
story teller who shared many of her stories with us all. Several at the conference went on to train in her special method of working with children and young adults ; StoryPlay .
The CPD courses which delegates could participate in were led
by Lindsay Thompson, Evelyn Saunders and myself. I was delighted with how popular LandPlay was and the two days of training were both great fun and transformational. Truely to get outside and be with the natural elements creates great feelings of well being.
I am pleased that so many at the conference are now inspired to incorporate Mother Nature into their sessions with clients .
i hope that here in UK there will be other Play Therapists and Child Cousellors who will take the leap and consider using
indoor and outdoor space in their therapeutic work. If you are interested in the 2 day LandPlay training ... please get in touch ....
Onwards and Upwards!
